Cycling routes and maps

Cycling maps show the cycling network in Tampere and the surrounding area. There are ten regional main routes for cycling. They lead from the city centre to Hervanta, Kaukajärvi, Vuores, Tesoma, Teisko, Kangasala, Pirkkala, Lempäälä, Ylöjärvi and Nokia. In addition to regional main routes, the cycle network includes local main routes and other local routes.

New types of cycling signage, signboards, have been installed on the regional main routes to promote smooth cycling trips. The signboards have been used along the route at points where cyclists on the main route need to turn or change side of the street via an underpass. Otherwise, traditional signage (fingerposts) has been used.

Lake Trails

Lake Trails offer several different route options in the nature and lake landscapes of Pirkanmaa and in the peace and quiet of the countryside. On the website you can choose routes of different lengths with maps, routes along train or boat connections and read travel tips and stories.

Mountain biking (MTB)

Tampere has been investing in the development of mountain biking for a long time and the first year-round route between Kauppi and Niihama is now available. More routes are planned for the future.
