Over 900 respond to equality and non-discrimination survey at The Adult Education Centre

The equality and non-discrimination planning process will continue at the Adult Education Centre throughout the autumn. The Centre will provide updates on the progress of the work and the survey results on its website.

The survey, open from 4 to 17 May 2026, aimed to assess the current state of equality, inclusion, accessibility, and experiences of inappropriate treatment, discrimination, prejudice and harassment at the Centre. The questionnaire was anonymous.

According to the results, the largest groups of respondents were aged 61–75, and 75 per cent of respondents were women. Almost 600 participants reported studying either languages or sports and dance.

The Adult Education Centre will use the results as a basis for developing measures for its Equality and Non-Discrimination Plan for 2027–2029. The planning process will begin in the autumn and continue throughout the season.

The Centre also received a substantial amount of open feedback, which will be analysed alongside the survey results.

Updates on the progress of the work and more detailed results will be published on the Centre’s website.
