The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region celebrates Civic Skills Week at the Leija Library in Ylöjärvi
During Civic Skills Week, the Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region will be present at the Leija Library in Ylöjärvi on Monday and Tuesday, August 25–26, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM. An administrative secretary from the Centre will be available to assist with course registrations and provide guidance on online enrollment. In line with the theme of the week, visitors can also test their civic skills through a variety of quizzes at the Centre’s stand.
The student association of the Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region will participate on both days, setting up a pancake tent in front of the library, where homemade pancakes will be available for purchase.
Assistant principal Anne Partanen hopes the public will attend the event.
– The event offers stimulation for the brain, whether through quizzes or the pancake tent," says Partanen.
Civic Skills Weeks will be held from August 25 to September 7, 2025, as adult education centres across Finland launch their autumn season with various courses and events related to civic skills. These skills are essential for everyday life, including managing personal affairs, self-care, and active participation in the community. Through this themed week, adult education centres aim to highlight the diverse educational opportunities they offer to support the development of these vital skills.
The academic year at the Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region begins on Monday, September 1, 2025, with courses of varying lengths starting throughout the semester.
