Heartbeat of Joy dance performance spreads the joy of dance and passes the good on

Heartbeat of Joy dance performance, organized by the Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region, brings together a great variety or dance performances for the joy of dance and charity. The event will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 7 PM in the Sampola event hall.
Three people are standing in a dance studio. They have oriental dance scarves around their hips.
At the Heartbeat of Joy dance performance, the audience will have the opportunity to explore dance hobby options at The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region. One of the styles featured is oriental dance.

Dance is about togetherness and experience, with performances playing a crucial role. The show will take the audience through the worlds of oriental dance, folk dance, Bollywood, jazz dance, lyrical jazz and ballet.

Heartbeat of Joy dance performance is coordinated at the Adult Education Centre by health promotion course coordinator Anne Kilponen and teacher and course coordinator Emmi Kallioniemi.

– The dance performance provides a comprehensive view of what dance can be. Dance often brings to mind skill and mastery, although rhythm is inherently built into all of us from birth. Perhaps the dance performance will inspire the audience to try dancing themselves, Kallioniemi notes.

During the evening, approximately 160 performers will take the stage. Dance is a performing art, and interaction with the audience is important. Most of the course participants want to perform and showcase their skills to others. There is no need to fear making mistakes in the performance or in the courses. At the Adult Education Centre, the goal in all activities is joy.

Dance is good for the body, but it has also been proven to promote mental well-being.

– For the elderly, dance and music through movement are the best brain exercise, Kilponen mentions.

Dance is for everyone, and people of all ages are welcome to the event. Kilponen also invites newcomers, as “the experience can be something entirely new”.

The event has no admission fee, but by purchasing the event program, you can pass the good on. The proceeds will be directed the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation for the protection of Tiitiäinen Forest. The forest is a nature reserve established by WSOY in honor of the author Kirsi Kunnas. The forest is located near the city centre of Ylöjärvi, making it easy to access for recreation and relaxation.
