Integration training and S2 education
Tampereen seudun työväenopisto provides integration training and Finnish as a second language teaching for immigrants (S2).
The training is intended to promote Finnish language skills and other skills required in society and everyday life in Finland. The training is also aimed at supporting and advancing employment and further education possibilities for the students.
Finnish courses
Työväenopisto offers a wide range of Finnish language courses, consisting of writing, reading and speaking in Finnish. Online courses are also available. The various language skill levels are mentioned in the course texts. The course coordinator is also available to help with choosing the correct course and level.
The course themes take into consideration the demands of everyday and working life in Finland. In addition, courses in Healthcare Finnish for healthcare workers are also available at Työväenopisto.
It is possible to train for the General Language Proficiency Test (YKI test) on courses that focus on grammar revision and exercises. The YKI certificate is useful when applying for work, studies or citizenship. Our Finnish language courses are also enlisted on the Finnish courses website.
Integration courses
If a certain course is intended for students with a valid integration plan, this will be stated in the course description. The date of the integration plan must be provided when registering. Other students may join the group if there are available places left on the course.
The courses are suitable for beginners, those who do not speak Finnish at all, as well as those who already have some skills. English may be used as a support language on the course, but it isn’t necessary to know English to take part. The courses proceed at a slow pace. They include conversation, reading and speaking, as well as getting to know Finnish culture.
