Accessibility in Laikku

  • The main entrance to the building has long stairs. The accessible entrance is located at the north end of the building, facing the Laikunlava outdoor stage. The accessible entrance is kept locked for security reasons. You can enter by ringing the doorbell. A caretaker will unlock the door.
  • Children's Cultural Centre Rulla has its own entrance, which is located at the south end of the building, next the Tampere Theatre. The entrance to the Rulla is accessible. There is a large pram parking space in the entrance hall.
  • There are two disabled parking spaces in Laikku, located at the south end of the building next to the entrance to the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla. There are no other parking spaces at Laikku. The nearest public car parks are at the Keskustori Central Square, Frenckell Square and the P-Frenckell car park.
  • Toilets are located on the 1st floor. One toilet is accessible. Children's Cultural Centre Rulla has its own toilets.
  • All the facilities in the Laikku are accessible except for small thresholds and partition doors.
  • There is a lift to all floors.
  • An induction loop has been installed in the 2nd floor info area, Lecture hall and Music hall.
  • The Music hall's stage is accessible via a ramp.
  • Guide dogs are welcome on the Laikku premises.
  • The signage in the building is also in Braille.
  • There are always two staff members on the 2nd floor of Laikku's info desk who are happy to help. The Children's Cultural Centre Rulla has its own staff.
  • The Laikunlava outdoor stage is accessible. There is no induction loop in the Laikunlava.
