Accessibility in Laikku

  • The main entrance to the building has long stairs. The accessible entrance is located at the north end of the building, facing the Laikunlava outdoor stage. The accessible entrance is kept locked for security reasons. You can enter by ringing the doorbell. A caretaker will unlock the door.
  • Children's Cultural Centre Rulla has its own entrance, which is located at the south end of the building, next the Tampere Theatre. The entrance to the Rulla is accessible. There is a large pram parking space in the entrance hall.
  • There are two parking spaces for persons with a disability, located at the south end of the building next to the entrance to the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla. When parking in parking spaces for persons with a disability, your car must display a parking card for people with reduced mobility. In addition, you must report your vehicle registration number to the staff at the information desk on the second floor of Laikku. There are no other parking spaces at Laikku. The nearest public car parks are at the Keskustori Central Square, Frenckell Square and the P-Frenckell car park. Other nearby parking spaces for persons with a disability are located at Keskustori.
  • Toilets are located on the 1st floor. One toilet is accessible. Children's Cultural Centre Rulla's toilets are located on the experience hall, one toilet is accessible.
  • All the facilities in the Laikku and Rulla are accessible except for small thresholds and partition doors.
  • There is a lift to all floors. From Rulla you can access the lift from the hallway through an interior door which is accessible.
  • An induction loop has been installed in the 2nd floor info area, Lecture hall, Music hall and Rulla's exhibition room.
  • The Music hall's stage is accessible via a ramp.
  • Service dogs are welcome on the Laikku and Rulla premises.
  • The signage in the building is also in Braille.
  • There are always two staff members on the second floor of Laikku's info desk who are happy to help. In Children's Cultural Centre Rulla are always three instructors who are happy to guide and assist visitors.
  • The Laikunlava outdoor stage is accessible. There is no induction loop in the Laikunlava.
