Tampere Gallery Week 18–26 October

Culture Highlight #42: During the Gallery Week, you can participate in over 40 events, including art pub quiz, art karaoke, workshops, artist meet-ups, poetry and dance performances. The opening ceremony for Gallery Week, which is open to everyone, will be held at the Mältinranta Art Center on 18 October. All Gallery Week events are free of charge!

Visiting art galleries is free of charge all year round

During Gallery Week, Culture House Laikku will host a large installation at Gallery by Tampere-based artist Anna Hyrkkänen, in which colored lights, people, and sculptures interact with each other. Artist presentation on 24th October at 6 pm. At Laikku Studio, Juliana Hyrri's paintings evoke a quiet melancholy in memories of summer.

Gallery Vivi at the Youth Culture Centre Monitoimitalo 13 opens the exhibition Good Night and Strange Dreams! The accompanying program includes a gentle Open Stage. 

In addition to the city's galleries, there are 12 other wonderful exhibition venues. The art galleries in Tampere have been organizing Tampere Gallery Week together since 2017. Many of the galleries are located close to each other and it is easy to visit several of them in the same tour. Free admission.
