Children’s cultural centre Rulla's Birthday Festival

Culture Highlight #47: Children's cultural centre Rulla is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The anniversary year will culminate in the free Birthday Festival on 22-23 November, featuring music and theater performances, anniversary exhibitions, and a birthday art workshop. Welcome to celebrate!

Children's cultural centre Rulla is a colorful and inspiring children's cultural centre where children can do arts and crafts, showcase their artwork, participate in various exciting events and art workshops, and explore changing exhibitions.

The Birthday Festival will feature performances by the children's music group Orffit, Under the Waves -baby theater, Oskari Onkimies -performance, and the exhibition Garden of Light and Secret Party Office. There will also be a birthday-themed art workshop, secret tasks, a joyful party atmosphere, and memories from Rulla's years.

Rulla opened in 2005 in the Finlayson factory area in Tampere, in the premises of a rolling mill, from which Rulla has got its name. Initially, the premises were mainly used as an exhibition and gallery space, but over the years, the activities began to shift more towards functional exhibitions, accompanied by exhibition-related workshops and various small events. Rulla was located at Finlayson until 2018, when it moved to the heart of Tampere city center, to Central Square and Culture House Laikku. The opening ceremony at Laikku was held in April 2018. In the fall of 2018, Rulla launched its Family Clubs and Art Hours, which continue to be an important part of Rulla's services. Today, Rulla reaches more than 30,000 adults and children annually.

Free entry, welcome!
CHANGES POSSIBLE.
