Free cultural walks led by Cultural Companions
Discover a new side of Tampere with cultural routes! You can walk in the footsteps of famous people or learn about the history of different neighborhoods. The routes can be explored with a free Cultural Guide or on foot, by bike, scooter, car, or even virtually at your own convenience.
Did you know that there are 29 different walking or cycling cultural routes in Tampere, showcasing the city's cultural history, artists, neighborhoods, and historical moments?
You can find information about the cultural routes at Tampere.fi website, in the Tampere.Finland mobile app, or in printed brochures. Printed brochures are available in the lobby of Culture House Laikku (Keskustori 4).
Volunteer cultural companions lead a cultural walk once a month and these walks are open and free for everyone. You can just show up!
The upcoming cultural walks led by Cultural Companions
All routes are guided in Finnish.
- Wednesday 28 May at 1 pm – Juice’s Tampere, starting point: Juice's Library (Pellavatori), the route ends at Laikku Music Hall. Musician and poet Juice Leskinen fell in love with Tampere immediately, settled down, and remained a Tampere resident for the rest of his life.
- Wednesday 11June at 1 pm - Härmälä's Villa Coast, starting point: Härmälä boat launch, at the end of Valmetinkatu. The route runs along the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi, where lively summer villa life was once enjoyed.
