Student Welfare Services

The goal of Student Welfare Services in upper secondary education is to promote students' learning, health, and well-being, and to ensure the well-being of the school community as well as the healthiness and safety of the learning environment.

Call hours: Mon 8:15–9:15 AM, Wed 2:30–3:30 PM. Appointments are held at Haapakuja 2 from Monday to Wednesday. On Tuesdays, there is a walk-in counseling from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. On Thursdays, the public health nurse is available at the Tullinkulma location, Hammareninkatu 5 B, 3rd floor.

Student health care provides healthcare and non-urgent medical services, sexual health services, as well as mental health and substance abuse services. First-year students are offered a free health check-up.

Appointments with the nurse can be made by phone or online. The nurse assesses the need for care and refers to a doctor if necessary. You can find more information about customer fees on the Pirkanmaa Wellbeing Services County website.

Walk-in therapist Ulla Keskinen 050 374 4363
The upper secondary school’s Walk‑in Therapy will continue in the 2026–2027 school year. Our walk‑in therapist, Ulla, will be at the school on Tuesdays between 10:00 and 15:00. Appointments can be booked via a Wilma message or by calling. Ulla's office Ankkuri is located in 2nd floor, Room 269, right next to the guidance counsellors' offices.

Remedial teaching

This school year, we offer remedial teaching groups in mathematical subjects, Finnish (mother tongue) and Finnish as a second language (S2), as well as in English and Swedish. Annika Lammi provides remedial teaching in mathematics, Heidi Heikkilä in Finnish and S2, and Sirpa Ruhanen in Swedish and English. In Finnish remedial sessions, you can also get help with written assignments in humanities and natural sciences subjects. 

We will inform you about remedial teaching arrangements in the Wilma's weekly bulletin and on the info screen. You can also always send a Wilma message if you need remedial teaching: to Annika Lammi (mathematics), Heidi Heikkilä (Finnish/S2, humanities essays), or Sirpa Ruhanen (Swedish/English). For remedial teaching in other subjects, you can make arrangements directly with your subject teacher.
