Dear media representatives
City of Tampere will host
the European Youth Olympic Festival in 19 - 24 July with more than 2600
athletes of age 13 - 18 years from 49 countries.
Nine sports
will take place at the games with the Olympic torch, the Olympic flag.
They are: athletics, swimming, cycling, gymnastic, tennis, judo,
volleyball, handball and basketball.
The opening ceremony will
be held at the Tampere Ice Stadium on Sunday 19 July and the closing
ceremony at the Ratina Stadium on Friday 24 July.

The Main Media Centre with a working room will be located at the Ratina Stadium, where the starting lists and results of all the sports at the games will be available.
Also at the other competition venues and at the Olympic Village there will be service and working room for media.
The competition venues will be:
Athletics: Ratina Stadium
Swimming: Tampere Swimming Centre (Kaleva)
Cycling: Time Trial and Criterium in Hervanta, Road Race in Pyynikki (centre)
Gymnastic: Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre TESC, hall A
Judo: Tampere Ice Stadium
Tennis: Tampere Tennis Centre (Ruotula)
Volleyball: Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre TESC, hall C
Handball: Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre TESC, hall D
Basketball: Pyynikki Gall Games Centre
The Internet
City of Tampere will provide wireless Internet connection at all the sports venues and Olympic Village. The media can use it free.
The user name and password for the WLAN-net will be available at the Main Media Centre.
If needed, also connections with wire will be available at the media working rooms.

The Main Media Centre will serve at Ratina Stadium, home straight
tribune, 1st floor. At each competition venue there will be a Media
Working room. All the starting lists, results and other essential
information will be available there as well as at the MMC - both
printed and on the net.
A photo-bib will be given to those who have a
photographer-accreditation. Photographers with a bib can work on the
photo-seats close enough to each competition site. The bib can be obtained from the Main Media Centre. At the Ratina
stadium maximum 12 photographers will be permitted to work infield at
the same time. Instructions of using a flash will be given at each
competition venue.
Finnish Broadcasting Compay Yleisradio has reserved all the rights to
take moving picture during the competitions. Otherwise videocameras can
be used, but the instructiuons must be followed at each venue.
