Easter memo 2024

Easter brings changes to public transport timetables and opening hours of city services from Maundy Thursday 28 March to Easter Monday 1 April 2024.

Social and health services

The Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa is responsible of the social and health services.

Public transport

Tampere Regional Transport Nysse operates with Sunday timetables on Friday 29 March, Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April. Please also note the moving into daylight saving time on 31 March.

City of Tampere services

Official services, such as Tampere Service Point and Employment and Growth Services, are closed from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April.

Nysse customer service at Frenckell is closed from Maundy Thursday 28 March to Monday 1 April.

Libraries

• Libraries will close at 17:00 on Maundy Thursday 28 March (or at the normal time if earlier). Library vans will stop running at 16:00.
• On Good Friday 29 March, libraries will be closed except for the self-service libraries.
• On Saturday 30 March, libraries will be open according to normal opening hours.
• On Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April, libraries are closed except for the self-service libraries.

Self-service libraries will also have normal opening hours on public holidays. During the opening hours, the library doors are opened with a library card and its identification number. The library is not staffed, but you can use the library's services on a self-service basis.

Culture and museums

• Culture House Laikku is closed 29 March and 1 April.
• On Maundy Thursday 28 March all museums will close exceptionally at 16:00.
• On Good Friday 29 March, all museums will be closed.
• On Saturday 30 March and Sunday 31 March, all museums will be open according to the weekend timetable.
• On Monday 1 April, all museums will be closed.
• Museum Milavida is closed till 12 April for exhibition changeover.
• Children's Cultural Centre Rulla is closed till 30 April due to renovations.

Sports and exercise facilities

All outdoor sports and exercise facilities except Kauppi Sports Park are closed from 29 March to 1 April. Ski trails will be maintained during Easter, depending on conditions.

Indoor sports facilities, such as Tampere Stadium, Hervanta Leisure Centre, Kaukajärvi Leisure Centre and Nääshalli, will be closed on Maundy Thursday 28 March at 14.30. They will be closed on Friday 29 March, Sunday 31 March and 1 April. On Saturday 30 March, the facilities will be open according to normal opening hours.

The gyms of the City of Tampere are located in connection with swimming pools or sports halls and are open during their opening hours.

The Sports Services Customer Service will be closed on Maundy Thursday 28 March at 14.30 and will be closed from 29 March to 1 April.

Swimming pools

• All swimming halls are open normally on Maundy Thursday 28 March. 
• All swimming halls are open 10:00 - 18:00 on Saturday 30 March and Sunday 31 March.
• The Tampere Swimming Centre is also open on Good Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April 10:00 - 18:00.
• Pyynikki Swimming Pool, Tesoma Swimming Pool and Hervanta Swimming Pool will be closed on Good Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April.
