The application for the Mansen Massit Community Grant has started

The application period for the City of Tampere's new Mansen Massit Community Grant is 2.4.–29.4.2024. Associations, communities and residents can apply for community grants for events and activities that are self-organised, strengthen community spirit, open to all and free of charge for participants. Grants can range from a few hundred to thousands of euros.

The City of Tampere supports the activities of Tampere residents in many ways. The newest form of support is the Mansen Massit Community Grant, which will be tested in 2024.

You can apply for Mansen Massit Community Grant to organise small or large-scale events or activities. It is available for one-off events in Tampere, but also for long-term activities.

– Community grants are ideal for a wide range of local activities around the city. It can be used to organise, for example, park picnics open to all, various block clubs, summer dances, multicultural parties or mini-festivals where young talents from the area can perform, says Planning Officer Lotta Harsunen.

– The main thing is that the activities bring people together and make people in Tampere feel good and comfortable. The activities must also be open to all and free of charge for the participants, says Harsunen.

Community grants can be used to fund activities until autumn 2025

Associations, communities and adult individuals can apply for the Mansen Massit Community Grant.

Depending on the nature of the activity, you can get community grants ranging from a few hundred to thousands of euros. Individuals can be granted up to €1,000 and associations up to €10,000, with a total of €140,000 available.

The application period for the Mansen Massit Community Grant starts on Tuesday 2 April 2024 and ends on Monday 29 April 2024 at 15.45. To apply for community grants, use the online application form on the city's website.

– I encourage all active people in Tampere to think about what interesting and new things you could do with Mansen Massit money. The application period is now in April, but the Community Grant can be used until autumn 2025, says Harsunen.

The recipients of the Community Grant will be decided by voting

– In many ways, Mansen Massit Community Grants are Tampere residents' own money. The people of Tampere can apply for it to carry out a wide range of events and activities themselves, but it is also up to them to decide where the money is allocated, says Harsunen.

The recipients of the Mansen Massit Community Grant will be decided by a vote. The voting period is from 20 May to 2 June 2024 and anyone living in Tampere can vote.

The vote will ensure that the Mansen Massit money goes to exactly what the people of Tampere want. Those who receive the most support in the vote will receive the Community Grant.
