Well-being of the pupils

The mental, physical and social well-being of the pupil is important to the pupil, his or her parents or guardians, and the school staff.

The task of the whole personnel is to promote the well-being of the pupils, but particularly it is the responsibility of the school health personnel and the pupil welfare personnel: school nurses, doctors, psychologists, school social workers, speech therapists, special needs assistants and school assistants.

School health care is provided by the Department of Social Services and Health Care whereas pupil welfare services are arranged by the Department of Day Care and Education.

In order to promote the well-being of the pupils there are peer counsellor activities (so-called godparent peers from upper classes), morning and afternoon activities as well as cooperation between the pupil's home and school.
