Coronavirus vaccinations are progressing as planned in Tampere. On Friday 2 July, appointment booking for COVID-19 vaccinations will become available for everyone over 16 years of age. Booster doses will be administered at the Ratina and the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre vaccination units and health centres over the summer. You should check the location of your booster vaccine appointment beforehand on the city’s website as the location may be different from where you received your first dose.

You need two vaccinations to be protected. It is very important that you get the booster vaccine in order to receive full protection. You will get the appointment for your booster vaccine when you receive the first vaccine.

As a rule, the booster vaccine is given as follows:

– If you received your first dose of the vaccine at a health centre, you will also receive the booster dose at a health centre.

– If you received your first dose of the vaccine at Ratina, you will also receive the booster dose at Ratina.

– If you received your first dose of the vaccine at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, you will receive the booster dose at the Ratina vaccination unit in the autumn.

Please note the following exceptions:

– If your booster vaccine appointment is on 22 or 23 July 2021, you can get your booster vaccine at either vaccination unit. The Ratina vaccination unit is only open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m on those days. The Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre vaccination unit will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

– If your booster vaccine appointment is between 9–29 August 2021, you will receive the booster dose at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre as the Ratina vaccination unit will be closed.

If your booster vaccine appointment is in July or August, you should check the location beforehand on the city’s website at https://www.tampere.fi/en/social-and-health-services/coronavirus/covid-19-vaccinations.html.
