Pirkanmaa’s Pandemic Control Group met to discuss the measures pursuant to the new instructions on Wednesday, 3 March 2021. According to the Pandemic Control Group’s guidelines, grades 7–9 in basic education and secondary schools in Tampere will transfer to remote teaching on 8–28 March 2021. Grades 1–6, preschool education, pupils who require special support and preparatory instruction will continue in contact teaching.

In remote teaching, teaching for grades 7–9 will continue according to their class schedule. Meals will be arranged through meal bags. The first meal bag can be picked up from the pupil’s own school on Tuesday, 9 March. Schools will send more detailed school-specific instructions and schedules after the winter holiday on Monday, 8 March.

According to the Pandemic Control Group, the decision to switch to remote teaching was made as Pirkanmaa will implement the extensive three-week lockdown as instructed by the Government in order to control the spread of the epidemic.
