Only patients requiring urgent dental treatment will be treated at the moment
From 6 April 2020 onwards, the City of Tampere’s oral health care clinics in Tampere and Orivesi will only treat patients requiring urgent and on-call dental treatment in order to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Non-urgent treatment is disrupted for the duration of the coronavirus situation.
The urgency of a patient’s treatment is evaluated on an individual basis.
If you have a scheduled appointment for a dental check-up or non-urgent treatment, you do not have to call the dental clinic. The dental clinic will contact patients personally in order to cancel or postpone appointments and discuss further treatment. Some dental clinics are closed, which means there might be changes to the place of treatment.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, attention must be paid to the safety of dental care. A dental care pandemic reception has been opened in Tampere, where patients in the Tampere region requiring both urgent treatment and special arrangements due to the infection risk will be treated. The patients’ own municipality or private dentist will refer them to the clinic and an appointment is made on the basis of a consultation made by the dentists of the City of Tampere.
