The Välke working group helps young adults aged 18 to 24 who have minor or moderate mental health issues commonly related to youth. Treatment is implemented by an individual plan and may include talk therapy but also groups, occupational therapy or psychophysical physiotherapy.
People aged 18 to 24 can be referred to Välke or contact Välke themselves. The service is intended for people whose challenges are related to development during youth, who are motivated towards treatment and who will benefit from short-term therapeutic treatment.
People who have graduated from vocational training should contact their local health centre, and people who are taking a gap year or who have dropped out of school should contact Välke. Students in secondary education should primarily contact student health care who will refer them to a period of care in Välke if necessary. The Finnish Student Health Service FSHS is responsible for the treatment of higher education students. Specialised medical care is responsible for treating people with severe symptoms.
