As of 1 August 2017, your municipality of residence (Tampere, Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Punkalaidun, Sastamala, Vesilahti or Ylöjärvi) will be responsible for your employment services instead of the Employment and Economic Development Office (TE Office) for Pirkanmaa.
According to the information we received from the Pirkanmaa TE Office, you will become a customer of employment services provided by your municipality of residence. The change of service model will not cause any changes in your unemployment security. Make sure, however, that your registration as a jobseeker remains valid.
As of 1 August 2017, your municipality of residence will provide services to support you in finding a job and a designated coach or case worker. He or she will assess your situation with you and support you in finding work.
Employment services in your municipality of residence will get in touch with you at the latest by 29 September 2017. You can prepare in advance. Consider, for example:
- What kind of support do you need in finding a job?
- How do your professional skills need to be updated?
- Are you interested in entrepreneurship?
- What other issues are affecting your search for and ability to accept a job?
If you have previously arranged appointments, services or tasks relating to jobseeking, please remember to deal with them as agreed by the deadline in order to prevent interruptions in your unemployment security. Contact the municipality of residence where you will be dealing with your job search issues in the future.
If you do not have any incomplete tasks or services at the TE Office, all you need to do is wait for your municipality to contact you.
Make sure that your contact information is up to date in E-services at te-palvelut.fi > Oma asiointi (in Finnish and Swedish).
E-services will continue to function as an online service channel where you can check and edit your information as before.
The change will apply to approximately 22,000 unemployed jobseekers in Pirkanmaa entitled to unemployment benefits (labour market subsidy or basic unemployment allowance) paid by Kela. These customers will be transferred in the customer information system from the TE Office to become customers of the municipality. During August, there will be a transition phase in customer service.
The change concerns a regional employment and business services pilot scheme starting in Pirkanmaa on 1 August 2017 where municipalities in the city region of Tampere as well as Sastamala and Punkalaidun will develop customer-oriented, effective employment services.
The change is based on the Act on the regional provision of public employment and business services and a pilot scheme concerning working life try-out.
