Love or hate? – Influence the city’s e-services by answering the survey

The city is investigating what the residents of Tampere want from the city’s e-services through a survey. Among those who fill out the survey three Museum passes, which will give free entry to Finnish museums for one year, will be given out as raffle prizes.

The City of Tampere is investigating the wishes and opinions of its residents regarding e-services through the following survey 17.10.–6.11.2022. The city is constantly developing its e-services. Particularly during the Covid pandemic, significant leaps forward in the development of the e-services were taken, as a number of services had to be offered online due to the restrictions on gatherings. Now that restrictions no longer determine the arrangement of services, the city wishes to investigate what wishes the residents of Tampere have concerning e-services.

– It is very important that everyone is able to take care of their affairs in a way that suits them. With the help of the survey answers we will be able to find out what things the residents of Tampere want to take care of online, and, on the other hand, what services should preferably be offered in person, explains project planner Laila Aimo.

The development ideas in order of priority

The city will prioritise the development of its e-services based on the results of the survey. Based on the wishes expressed in the survey, the city can for example improve the characteristics of already existing services or begin developing completely new online services. The city’s service designers will go through all the survey answers and will forward the received suggestions to the entities responsible for the service in question. The feedback received from the residents of Tampere is extremely important to the city.

– For instance in the updating of the Tampere.fi website, we received several development ideas from the website city council, which was comprised of residents. A number of changes were implemented as a result of ideas brought up by the residents, and thus the webpages could be significantly improved, says service designer Elina Tervi.

The survey will be conducted simultaneously also in Turku, Porvoo and Lahti, as part of a joint development project between the cities. The goal is to collect a broad range of answers and ideas regarding e-services.
The survey will also be available in English and Swedish. The survey will be anonymous. Among those who submit their contact information, three Museum passes, valid for one year each, will be awarded.
