VIEWS Art Exhibition opens at the International House Tampere on 30th of September
On Tampere Day 30.9.2022, Multilingual info Mainio at the International House Tampere welcomes Tampere Intercultural Art community to open an art exhibition called VIEWS. The exhibition is open from 30 September to 8 November 2022. VIEWS invites the audience to build multicultural layers of the Tampere city region in dialogue, and reconsider cultural diversity and inclusion together through the exhibition.
VIEWS exhibition is a project that is created and built on the mutual understanding of the need to be supportive and inclusive in the arts and culture field in Finland, by highlighting international artists based in the Tampere city region. This art exhibition, through the artists’ pieces, also aims to promote and show the richness that various cultures and international talents can bring to Tampere creating an intercultural exchange between the internationals and the natives.
City of Tampere’s International Talent Attraction and Migration unit sees dialogue between the officials and people important; migration, integration, talent attraction and retention are a two-way street where we hear and reply also to the citizens’ expectations. The day of Tampere is for all, and the diverse, creative, and culturally rich face of Tampere is also made visible for all.

It is our privilege and joy to open the International House to the Tampere Intercultural Art community and show that cultural diversity can be built together in a shared companionship. With this joint project, we can enhance the wider audience’s understanding in collaboration, as well as the richness that various cultures and international talents can bring to us. Tampere Intercultural Art community’s professional touch and multi-level art makes it both easy and intriguing for us to try something new at the International House, says Multilingual info Mainio’s Team Leader Kristina Kemi.
Tampere Intercultural Art is a community of artists, culture professionals and enthusiasts formed in 2020. Their goal is to bring out the work of aspiring international artists, promote intercultural dialogue and diversity through art practices. Community also advocates for the promotion of inclusion and equality of foreign-born artists in the field of art and culture in Finland.
In addition to the opening day, VIEWS is open to the public at the International House Tampere on Fridays 14.10., 28.10. and 4.11. between 4pm and 5.30pm, and during the Integration 2022 event. The artists will be available to guide those interested in the afternoons.
