Is Tampere listening to its residents? Does Tampere have community spirit? Answer the survey and influence the future of the city
Tampere residents are invited to answer a survey that looks at the experiences, views and wishes that residents have regarding participation and community spirit. How could the city listen to residents and involve them in developing the city even better than it currently does? The survey will be open until 2 October 2022.
“We want the residents to become even more involved in developing our city. This goal of participation and community spirit is also included in our ‘City of Action’ strategy,” says Lilli Siikasmaa, Planning Officer in the participation team of the City of Tampere.
Currently, there is an ongoing survey open to all Tampere residents. The survey looks at the current experiences and views that Tampere residents have regarding participation as well as their wishes for the future.
“Tampere residents can participate in developing the city in many different ways. We would like to improve our efforts to promote participation so that residents could make their voices heard even better than before in the city’s decision-making and development processes,” says Planning Officer Susanna Lundström.
How could the city improve its communication? What ways of participation do people prefer? What kinds of things do Tampere residents want to influence? These are the types of questions that Lundström would like to get answers to.
The answers to the survey will be utilised in drafting the city’s plan regarding participation and community spirit. The plan will set the most central goals for the city’s efforts to promote participation in the coming years and define the actions with which those goals can be achieved.
The survey will open until Sunday, 2 October 2022, and you can answer it anonymously. You can also choose to provide your contact information to enter a prize draw where you can win film tickets.
