Fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccine also for persons aged 70–79 belonging to risk groups
In Tampere and Orivesi, the administration of fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccine to persons aged 70–79 belonging to medical risk groups 1 and 2 will begin in accordance with the recommendation of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
Persons suffering, for example, from a severe heart or pulmonary disease, diabetes and morbid obesity belong to the risks groups. See detailed information about the medical risk groups at the National Institute for Health and Welfare’s website: Risk groups for severe coronavirus disease
The fourth vaccine dose may be given when at least three months have passed after the third vaccination.
Vaccinations are given by appointment on weekdays at the health centres and during weekends at Hatanpää urgent care (Hatanpäänkatu 24, entry through the main entrance of the Hatanpää Hospital).
You can book an appointment online through the COVID-19 vaccinations page or by calling the health care counselling service on 03 5657 0023 (daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Residents of Orivesi may also book an appointment by calling the health centre appointment number: 03 5657 5777, Mon–Fri from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
If a person aged 70–79 belonging to a risk group has had COVID-19 and received three vaccines, they will not need the fourth vaccine at this point.
Fourth vaccines have already been recommended to persons who are severely immunocompromised, persons living in nursery homes for the elderly, persons aged 80 and older and persons aged 70 and older who are in home care or informal care or cannot manage at home without aid.
