Tampere celebrates Manse Pride Week 6–11 June 2022

During Manse Pride Week in Tampere from 6 to 11 June 2022, various operators will be organising all kinds of equality-related events for people of all ages. The theme of the week is Stay true in Tampere!

Sinuiksi ry (formerly Pirkanmaan SETA) and the City of Tampere are responsible for organising the week of events. City of Tampere Youth Services, Tampere City Library and the Urban Culture Unit will also be organising various activities throughout the week. A host of other operators will be contributing to the event week as well.

The highlight of Manse Pride Week is the Pride march and the main celebration on Saturday, 11 June. The march starts from Koskipuisto at 2:30 p.m., ending up in Sorsapuisto, where the main celebration of the week of events will take place from 3 p.m. onwards. During the celebration, the City of Tampere will give its rainbow declaration, and there will also be an extravagant drag show. The rap duo Sofa will be there to keep the vibe electric.

Implementing equality actions is an important part of Pride Week. Among other things, the City of Tampere will open one of its indoor swimming pools to sexual minorities who have not had the privilege of enjoying the basic right of equal swimming opportunities. On Monday, 6 June, there will be a swimming session under the theme of Manse Pride from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can register to the swimming session on Manse Pride -program.

Equality seminar Rainbow Rights and Wrongs on 8 June

Resident events and a seminar on promoting equality are among the most important offerings of Manse Pride Week. The City of Tampere’s equality plan will be updated during 2022. The work will begin by mapping the current state of equality. All Tampere residents can contribute to the mapping of the current state by participating in the resident events on 7 or 9 June and by responding to the resident survey between 6 and 26 June 2022. We will be providing more information about the resident events closer to the event.

Please register by Monday, 6 June 2022 at the latest.
