Modern fitness and sports hub to Hakametsä

Hakametsä Sport Campus is a development project aiming to develop the area surrounding Hakametsä Ice Stadium. The goal is to create a modern fitness and sports hub. Sport Campus offers diverse opportunities for people practising sports, sports clubs and organisations, top athletes, sports business and research and development activities.

New health and social services centre to Kauppi

A new wellbeing centre is being planned for the Kauppi campus area formed by the University Hospital and educational institutions. The centre will be responsible for providing primary social and health services for about 60,000 residents living in the eastern part of the city. In addition to social and health services, the centre will have research and education environments and space for applied development work.

Multidisciplinary education environment in the field of social and health services

The main campus of Tampere University of Applied Sciences and the Kauppi campus of the Tampere University, which houses the University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology, are located in the Kauppi area. Research and education within the higher education institution community are supported by Tampere University Hospital. The operators in the area form a multidisciplinary education environment in the field of social and health services, an example of which is Tampere University Hospital’s Tampere Centre for Skills Training and Simulation, which provides high-quality simulation and skills facilities designed for learning clinical skills.

Questions to experts can be sent in advance

The objective of the discussions is to increase awareness about urban development and the role of campuses, and to highlight opportunities for cooperation in connection with higher education institution courses and theses. Another important perspective is the consideration of student-friendliness in the development of the city. During the event, urban development experts will answer the participants’ questions, and it is also possible to send questions in advance via the link at the bottom of this page.
