City of Tampere services follow the guidelines set by the government, and distance learning will continue until May 13th. The City of Tampere is prepared to continue distance learning until the end of the academic year, if the situation so requires.

<![CDATA[Coronavirus significantly impacting event activities in the Tampere region]]> https://www.tampere.fi/en/city-of-tampere/info/current-issues/2020/03/26032020_1.html The City of Tampere used a survey to map out the impacts of the coronavirus on event activities in the region. The survey was sent to almost 400 culture and sports organisations in the Tampere region. 129 responses were received by 20 March. The aim of circulating the survey was to investigate the impacts of the precautionary measures taken due to the coronavirus on event organisers and the event production sector in the Tampere region. In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, public events of more than 10 persons have been forbidden in the entire country until 13 April 2020.

<![CDATA[In Tampere, students in grades 7–9 and in upper secondary schools switch to distance learning as of Monday 16 March]]> https://www.tampere.fi/en/city-of-tampere/info/current-issues/2020/03/16032020_1.html In order to control the spread of the coronavirus, the comprehensive schools run by the City of Tampere will move to provide remote teaching for students in grades 7–9 and in additional education for the period 16–27 March 2020. All comprehensive schools will also offer the option of contact teaching in the student’s own school. Teaching for grades 1–6 will continue as normal in all schools. As of Monday 16 March, the upper secondary schools of the City of Tampere will switch to distance learning, at least until the end of the period 4, which is 2 April 2020.

If you are only suffering from minor respiratory symptoms, follow the general instructions for respiratory tract infections. Please stay at home for as long the symptoms persist as well as for one symptom-free day. Avoid contact with other people, wash your hands regularly and thoroughly, and cough and sneeze hygienically. Reducing social contact is also important for healthy people, as this slows down the spread of the epidemic.

The individual exhibition opening in the basement of Tampere Art Museum presents her colour-saturated graphic art from the last few years. It consists of about 60 works, including for the first time a series of works from 2019-2020 that was inspired by a trip to India and the Himalayas, as well as works related to St. Petersburg, Paris and Tampere from the period of 2014-2018.
