Students in Tampere will be vaccinated against COVID 19 at Ratina — plans for pop-up stations

Students who are studying in Tampere have the possibility to receive a COVID 19 vaccine at Ratina’s vaccination unit (Ratinan rantatie 1), regardless of their home municipality. At Ratina, vaccinations will be offered both with and without appointments. In addition, plans are being made for pop-up vaccination stations at the university and in other locations. More information about the pop-up stations will be announced later.

Tampere to conduct survey to learn about residents’ experiences concerning safety

The City of Tampere is conducting an online survey to learn about the city’s residents’ experiences and views concerning the city’s safety. The survey is open until 29 August 2021. The results will be applied in the development of the city’s safety.

COVID-19 vaccinations for 12–15-year-olds in Tampere to be organised mainly in schools

In Tampere, 12–15-year-old pupils in basic education will mainly receive their COVID-19 vaccinations in school. Vaccinations will begin in the week beginning 16 August 2021. More precise information on vaccination times and places will be provided in Wilma on a school-by-school basis. Details about carrying out vaccinations in Orivesi will be given no later than the week beginning 16 August 2021.

Messukeskus vaccination unit to be closed on 13 August – vaccinations continued in Ratina

The Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre (Messukeskus) vaccination unit, which was opened for the summer, will soon close. The unit’s final day of operation is 13 August 2021. Coronavirus vaccinations will continue at Ratina’s vaccination unit and health centres.

Vaccinations to continue at Ratina in August

The Ratina vaccination unit will not close in August as had been previously planned and vaccinations will continue throughout the month as normal. Ratina is open Mon–Fri from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to those who have a vaccination appointment. The Ratina vaccination unit is mainly for those who have an appointment for a booster shot; however, the Ratina walk-in vaccination service is also open Mon–Fri from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to those coming in for their first shot.

School and day care centre construction projects advance: New day care centre in Lielahti ready in early August

A new day care centre in Lielahti with room for 160 children has been completed in Tampere at the beginning of August. The new day care centre is located at Ollinojankatu 6 on the same plot where the previous Lielahti day care centre was demolished a few years ago.

School Starts in Tampere on Tuesday 10 August 2021

Tampere welcomes nearly 2,200 first graders this autumn. The school year will begin at Tampere’s comprehensive schools on Tuesday 10 August 2021. All grades will begin the school year in contact teaching at their own schools.
