Isokuusi day care centre and school opens its doors in Vuores

The new Isokuusi day care centre and school in Vuores has opened its doors in January. The new unit has facilities for a total of about 300 children. The new Multisilta day care centre will also open in January.

The new Isokuusi day care centre, preschool education and basic education for grades 1–2 are all located in the same building. The Isokuusi day care centre and school is located at Sydänpuunkatu 9.

During the spring semester in 2022, the Isokuusi school will have two preschool education groups and two first grade classes. In the future, the school will provide preschool education and basic education for grades 1–2.

The Isokuusi school is administratively part of the Vuores school, and its principal is Leena Kostiainen. The Isokuusi day care centre and preschool education are administratively part of the Vuores early childhood education unit, and its director is Saara Jyrkkä.

The children moved to the Isokuusi day care centre from the Klaava day care centre on Vuoreksen Puistokatu, which closed at the turn of the year. Some of the children attending the Klaava day care centre moved to the Vuores day care centre.

The premises of the Isokuusi day care centre are intended for a total of about 160 children. The school has preschool and primary education facilities for about 150 pupils.

New Multisilta day care centre to open in late January

The new Multisilta day care centre has been completed on Terävänkatu. The day care centre will open its doors on 24 January 2022.

The new, two-storey day care centre building is located at the northern end of the plot. The plot is bordered by Akselinkuja, Terävänkatu and Lempääläntie. The day care centre is intended for a total of 140 children.

Concrete elements were used in the construction of the first floor of the day care centre. The second floor is made of wood.

The gym, canteen and small kitchen area in the day care centre can be separated from other areas for evening use. The building has a lift, and all premises are accessible. The yard is also designed to be accessible. The entrance for evening use is located on the side of the parking area. The entrances for the groups of children in the day care centre are located on the yard side.

Children will move to the new day care centre from the temporary location of the Multisilta day care centre at Terävänkatu 1.
