Vaccinations to continue at Ratina in August

Published 10.8.2021 10.17

The Ratina vaccination unit will not close in August as had been previously planned and vaccinations will continue throughout the month as normal. Ratina is open Mon–Fri from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to those who have a vaccination appointment. The Ratina vaccination unit is mainly for those who have an appointment for a booster shot; however, the Ratina walk-in vaccination service is also open Mon–Fri from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to those coming in for their first shot.

If you got your first shot at Ratina and your booster shot appointment is in August, you can now also get the booster shot at Ratina in the timeslot given to you. You do not need to notify the health services in advance about this. To be fully vaccinated, you need to both the first vaccination and the booster.

In addition to Ratina, the vaccination unit at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre will also be open, at least until 13 August. Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre is open to those with an appointment on Mon–Fri from 11 am to 6 p.m. You can come to Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre to get your first or second shot, even without an appointment. Due to the limited number of vaccinations available, people without an appointment will not be vaccinated on 5–10 August. During this time, only those with an appointment can come to Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre for their shots. The Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre walk-in service is open on 11–13 August from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and no appointment is needed.

People who wish to get the booster shot earlier can only do so without an advance reservation at the walk-in vaccination service at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre. It is not possible to make a vaccination appointment for an early booster shot.

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to all Tampere residents over the age of 16 and members of risk groups over the age of 12. An amendment approved by the Parliament, according to which COVID-19 vaccines will be made available to all children between the ages of 12 and 15, will enter into force on 9 August 2021. The City of Tampere is making preparations to vaccinate children between the ages of 12 and 15.
