Published 27.4.2020 15.28

The English version of the coronavirus symptom checker has been published in the Omaolo online service. If you suspect you have the coronavirus infection, you can assess your need for treatment and get advice on how to stop the virus from spreading by filling in the symptom checker form. The online service is available 24/7.

Follow these instructions: Fill in the symptom checker form at External linkomaolo.fi/en . After filling in the symptoms, you will receive symptom-based recommendations. The recommendations provided by the English version are similar throughout Finland.

If you are advised to contact health services, call the occupational health care, your health centre or the health care counselling service on 03 10023 or 03 5657 0023 (open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.). If the health care counselling service is closed, please call the Tampere University Hospital coronavirus counselling number 03 3116 5333 (open 24/7). In case of an emergency, call 112.

More coronavirus tests are carried out on all people with symptoms. The symptoms of coronavirus infection can include a cough, runny nose, sore throat, fever, headache, shortness of breath, diarrhoea or loss of taste and smell.

The English version of the coronavirus symptom checker has been created in cooperation with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and Duodecim Publishing Company Ltd. The symptom checker is also available in Finnish and Swedish.
