Information on the shutdown of Tampere libraries
To prevent the spread of the corona virus and in accordance of a Finnish government degree, all the libraries of Tampere are closed from March 17th until April 14th 2020. The shutdown applies to self-service libraries and mobile libraries. The following library guidelines are taken into practice on March 18th.
Returns are not accepted or handled during the shutdown of the libraries in accordance with the guideline given by the Regional State Administrative. Every library’s return chute is closed starting from April 3rd.
The return dates have been changed automatically for all loans with a return date during the shutdown of the libraries (18.3.-13.4.2020). The return date for these loans will be in May or June 2020. The new return dates can be checked at External link
Reservations are not available for pick up during the shutdown. The last pick up date for all reservations will automatically change to a date after the end of the shutdown. Please do not reserve items available at the libraries. You will not be able to pick any reservations before the shutdown ends.
The fee of the reservations that are not picked up will not be charged at the moment.
You can pay overdue fines online at Piki-netlibrary.
Interlibrary reservations will not be managed during the shutdown. New requests will not be sent to other libraries, and the customer will be informed of all arriving interlibrary loans only after the shutdown. All requests will stay active, unless an expiration date has been given. All interlibrary loans are renewed automatically.
The interlibrary loans can also be returned into the library’s return chute.
Part of the library’s collection can be accessed from your own home. Find out more about our e-books and other online e-resources at Piki-netlibrary.
All the events in every library, meeting room reservations as well as all of Tietotori’s courses and personal advising have been cancelled.
