How the coronavirus impacts culture and leisure services
All Tampere indoor swimming pools, youth centres, ice stadiums, indoor sports facilities, heated artificial turf fields and the artificial ice rink on Koulukatu Street are closed until further notice. Ski tracks, trekking paths and other similar sites for spontaneous exercise are still available and maintained when possible.
All instructed exercise groups organised by sports services have been cancelled for this spring. The cancellation applies to all groups: Youth sports groups, Liikkuva Perhe family events, all instructed exercise groups in the spring season, baby swimming groups and swimming lessons.
All libraries and museums are closed until further notice. The Sara Hildén Art Museum, Tampere Art Museum, Moomin Museum, Museum Milavida and Museum Centre Vapriikki, Culture House Laikku and Children´s Cultural Centre Rulla are closed until further notice. Guided tours, including tours booked for groups, are also cancelled. All of Työväenopisto courses have been cancelled.
All camps, outings, events, hobby groups and other regular group activities, such as console and computer activities, arranged by youth services are cancelled until the end of May. Youth services will strive to provide more online activities for young people over the spring.
The Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra has cancelled their concerts in the Large and Small Auditorium of Tampere Hall until the end of May. People who have purchased a single ticket may either request a refund or exchange their ticket for a ticket to a Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra concert in the autumn season 2020 or a gift voucher that is valid for any Tampere Philharmonic concert.
