Amuri Museum of Workers' Housing opened its doors
The summer season has started at Amuri Museum of Workers’ Housing. The rare wooden city block presents workers’ homes in Tampere from the 1880s to the 1970s and tells the stories of their imaginary residents. The museum’s summer is also full of exciting events, from guided tours to outdoor concerts.
The museum block comprises five residential buildings and four outhouses that are still located in their original places. There is also a sauna, bakery, shoemaker’s shop, cooperative shop, and haberdashery and stationery shop. Museum café Amurin Helmi is a nice place for a short break while visiting the museum.
In the summer, the museum offers many experiences and activities. On Saturday 20 May, Amuri will participate in the Night of the Museums and remain open until 10 p.m.
