Between Christmas and New Year’s Day, the health centres in the city of Tampere will only treat patients in need of urgent care. Of the city health centres, those of Atala, Kämmenniemi and Tesoma will be closed between 24 December 2016 and 8 January 2017. Omapihlaja Kehräsaari is closed from 24 December until 30 December 2016.

Other city health centres and the Hervanta office of Omapihlaja will observe normal opening hours between Christmas and New Year’s Day. The health centres will already close at 3 p.m. on the day preceding Christmas Eve, 23 December 2016, and on Epiphany Eve.

Patients requiring acute care will be directed to the health centre that offers the earliest available appointment.

Treatment guidance and information on care are also available from the health services information and advice centre in Christmas and New Year’s day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Days just before and after New Year’s Day are busy at health centres and non-urgent appointments are no longer available. Also remember that you may have to queue when calling the health services information and advice line.

While the service is closed, prescriptions can only be renewed for compelling reasons through either the patient’s health centre’s prescription renewal phone service or the pharmacy. More information on prescription renewal is available from health care counselling services.

Exceptional opening hours of the city social and health services can all be found in the address www.tampere.fi/en/social-and-health-services/turn-of-the-year.html:
