Active pass 

Active pass

Tampere residents who have received income support for no less than a year are eligible for an active pass. The active pass can be used on the Tampere Public Transport buses and at the city’s indoor swimming pools and gyms. Museum Centre Vapriikki, Tampere Art Museum and Sara Hildén Art Museum offer free entrance.

Adult education 

Educational institutions

General upper secondary education provides extensive all-round education
and language skills. Additionally, it develops skills for
self-development and further study.

Adult education centre (Tampereen seudun työväenopisto) arranges courses, lectures and study circles in many fields. Human and social science subjects include philosophy, culture and nature; personal development and healthy living consists of subjects such as psychology, healthcare, physical exercise and dance; practical skills are taught in information technology, video techniques, handicrafts, woodwork; teaching in arts is offered in drama, creative writing, music and visual arts. Languages are also well represented: courses in 20 languages are offered at different levels.

Vocational education

The Tampere Vocational College Tredu provides vocational training in the Pirkanmaa region. The Tampere Adult Education Centre (TAKK) provides education for young people and adults.

Särkänniemi Adventure Park

Särkänniemi is open all year round but the adventure park's rides are in operation only during the park's summer season.



Arboretum means a collection of trees, maintained as a park or park woodland. Hatanpää Arboretum is situated three kilometres south from Tampere city centre.
