The summer exhibition is composed of works from the collection belonging to the Sara Hildén Foundation, which was established in 1962 when Tampere art collector and business woman Sara Hildén (1905-1993) donated her works of art to the Foundation bearing her name.
All-time favourites are among the many works shown in the exhibition. Well-known, modern classic works on display include Glass and Violin by Pablo Picasso and Summer by Paul Delvaux, the latter being Sara Hildén’s favourite painting. The latest acquisitions of the Sara Hildén Foundation are comprised of paintings and sculptures by contemporary Finnish and foreign artists. There are works by French Jean-Michel Othoniel, Icelandic Eggert Pétursson and Americans Ross Bleckner, Mark Francis and Marc Swanson. Also included are works by Finnish artists Jani Leinonen, Jarmo Mäkilä, Leena Nio and Stiina Saaristo.
An audio guide is being made on the classic works in the Sara Hildén Foundation. It is available at information desk on the entrance hall.
As before, during the summer season the entrance to the museum is via the Särkänniemi Adventure Park gate, and entrance fee to the museum is included in the diverse tickets of the park.
