Home Services

Home care facilities are available to the aged who are living at home and need assistance due to reasons of limited mobility, sickness or some other reason.

Home Care facilities cover services and nursing provided at home as well as other support services.

Aged people have the possibility to obtain facilities for daily activities such as cooking, washing, laundry and ironing in addition to medical care.
If necessary, services can be provided several times a day, at night and during weekends.

Facilities related to meals, shopping, cleaning, sauna bath, safety telephone and transport can be organized for the aged as support services and are provided by the Home Care Department.

Concerning aged people needing regular home services, a care and treatment plan is prepared to evaluate the need for services.

Application for services

The need for assistance is evaluated by a Home Care Department worker from the client’s own regional unit.
A Home Care Department worker pays a visit to the client’s home for consultation with the client and his/her close relations. Persons needing home care services are advised to contact the Head Officers of the Home Care Department in their own districts.

Client fee

A client fee is charged for regular services (at least once a week) according to the daily time spent by the personnel for services provided at the client’s home.
The fee amount is also determined by the number of family members and their monthly gross earnings.

In cases of occasional visits, a single payment of (7-17 euros/visit) is charged.

Support services of the Home Care Department are priced separately, e.g. transportation fee is 5 euros (return ticket).

For information on client charges you can contact the Home Care Head Officers.
