You can apply for discretionary grants for cultural events and projects from the Cultural Affairs throughout the year. You can apply for operational grants from the Board of Culture and Quality of Life annually.
Production grants can be applied
for by associations, communities or work groups. A discretionary grant can be
given for a one-time, single event, project or venture. The grant will not be
given for events or ventures that will make a profit or whose main goal is
entrepreneurship. Grants are also not given for events that have to do with the
basic functions of an organisation and that are supported by other grants or
subsidies. Production grants and project grants can only be used for the
purposes stated in the resolution.
The grants are directed at non-profit, unchallenged public events that complete
the existing local cultural offerings and that are primarily directed at people
from the Tampere region. Production corporations and registered associations
can apply for a grant to help with the cost of e.g. the materials, marketing or
other costs of an event. The grant is not given for device acquisitions,
recordings, publications or for private persons. You can apply for grants at
any time. The application must be submitted, however, before the event or
project takes place.
It is advisable to contact the unit responsible for giving the grant. The
grants from Cultural Affairs are applied for with a special form. The grant will
be paid against presentation of receipts.
Application forms can be printed from this page. Some can be filled in on the screen and only printed for the signature. You can also get the forms from the following customer service offices, where you can ask for further information:
