The Night of the Museums, May 25th 2013
Another Night of the Museums draws close
The Night of the Museums in Tampere on 25 May 2013 at 6pm–midnight
The Night of the Museums takes place in Tampere on Saturday, 25th May 2013. The museums and other cultural institutions taking part in this nocturnal event offer a wide range of exhibitions, guided tours and other programme events until midnight. You can enjoy theatre, have your photo taken for a postcard, test your knowledge in quizzes and meet police officers. If you like music, you can attend the concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Werstas, on Väinö Linnan aukio.
The seven-euro ticket grants entrance to all participating venues and the two local buses that provide transport between them. Visitors to the National Police Museum can take buses 13 and 30 between Hervanta and the city centre by showing their wristband pass. Tampere City Public Transport is a partner for the event.
The Night of the Museums kiosk can be found on Keskustori, next to the fountain. The kiosk, supplying information on the events and exhibitions held at local museums this summer, is open on Friday, 24 May, at 12–6pm and on Saturday, 25 May, at 12–10pm.
This year marks the fifth time that Night of the Museums events are being held in Tampere. Last year, there were about 9,000 visits. The Night of the Museums in Tampere is part of the Central European La Nuit des Musées / Lange Nacht der Museen museum events.
