Black and white Finns are the world's most avid newspaper readers. The morning paper over breakfast is still going strong, even though several Finnish newspapers also publish an online version these days. Newspapers are regarded as being the foremost sources of local news and information.
Newspapers are the oldest form of mass media and their position seems to be stable, even if their production techniques have changed beyond all recognition. Today, each editorial team focuses on its own subject area and part-time reporters have become full-time professional journalists. In the 'Press' section, visitors can learn more about the history of newspapers and multimedia, and the 'Aamulehti' newspaper's archives contain articles and stories from 1994 (in Finnish). This black and white biggest mass medium is still as strong as ever.
