Come and join us in the first joint conference of ICOHTEC – The International Committee for the for the History of Technology History and TICCIH – The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage in Tampere, Finland on August 10-15, 2010. The minor partner is Worklab, the international association of labour museums.
The title of the conference is Reusing the Industrial Past. The meeting
will be a joint conference, and its theme is expected to be broad
enough covering various approaches. The conference venues will be
The University of Tampere and the old Finlayson factory area by the
Tammerkoski rapids in the centre of Tampere.

The local organising committee would like to thank you for the proposals!
We received a delightful number of papers for the conference. The
proposals are now in process among the international programme committees.
The acceptance letters will be send out in February 2010.
The deadline for the papers/session proposals was Thursday the 7th
of January, 2010.

TRAVEL GRANTS
ICOHTEC will award travel grants to participants of the conference
Reusing the Industrial Past.
Travel grants will be given in a limited number to young scholars
(predominantly from countries with traditionally weak currencies).
These grants may go up to 300 Euros. A commission of ICOHTEC will
decide about the grants. Please, send your application with the following
appendices:
1. cv,
2. list of publications and earlier conference papers,
3. list of academic qualifications (including degrees, institutions
of studies and supervising professors),
4. the abstract of the intended paper and the statement that it was
accepted,
5. name of a member of ICOHTEC who is able to give information about
the applicant.
The grant will be given after the paper has been presented.

no later than April 19, 2010.
The local organising committee is also going to award some travel
grants. We will provide more information after the final decicion
from the foundations in February 2010.
The first keynote speakers have been announced. The Kranzberg lecture on Tuesday will be given by professor Håkon With Anderssen (NTNU, Trondheim, Norway) and keynotes on Wednesday will be delivered by Dr. Anna Storm (KTH, Stockholm, Sweden) and professor Patrick E. Martin (Michigan Tech, USA).
