Community spirit will be supported with club facilities, market squares and other open areas which serve as gathering places.
The residential buildings will be built for energy efficiency and have a long lifecycle. Several research and development projects are underway in Vuores, ensuring the buildings’ energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy such as wind and solar power and geothermal heat. New possibilities in wood building are also being explored.
Data communications have been tuned for the future needs. The area is equipped with ultra-fast internet connections exceeding 100/100 Mbps.
Rain water and leachate, or drainage water, are processed in a natural and controlled manner. They will be kept and absorbed in water meadows, hollows and underground pits. The most spectacular drainage water processing spot will be in Vuores Central Park. It has been designed by German Atelier Dreiseitl, which specializes in processing drainage water using environmental art.
