The Tampere city website has started to publish information on swimming
water temperatures for the summer. You can also order the water
temperatures as an RSS feed.
Tampere City Sports Services measures the temperature
of the water on weekdays at beaches that are supervised by personnel. This
summer, water temperature information is available for the beaches of Eliander,
Hervantajärvi, Kaukajärvi-Riihiniemi, Kämmenniemi, Pyynikki, Suolijärvi,
Suomensaari, Tahmela and Tohloppi.
The cleaners of the beaches send the water temperature
as an SMS, and the information is updated automatically on the city website at
www.tampere.fi/english/sportsandleisure/recreation/beaches/temperature.html. You
can also order the temperatures of the swimming waters as an RSS feed, and a
mobile version is available, too.
Lifeguards are present only on the Pyynikki beach on
weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Cleaning staff will be present from Monday to
Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the beaches of Eliander, Hervantajärvi,
Kaukajärvi-Riihiniemi, Kämmenniemi, Suolijärvi, Suomensaari, Tahmela and
Tohloppi.
Sport Services
remind that swimming supervision is not the duty of the cleaning staff, who do
not have lifeguard training.
You can find information on the locations and
equipment of the beaches and the quality of
swimming water on the website of the Tampere City Sports Services:
