Public transport fares to rise in July

The Committee for Public Transport of the Tampere Central Region decided in the meeting held 9 May 2012 to revise the fares starting from the beginning of July.

The previous increment in the summer 2011 increased the proceeds from ticket sales by approximately 2% but at the same time, the expenses of the maintenance of public transport grew by 5.3% according to the cost index of bus and motor-coach traffic. According to the budget for the present year, the required increase was 2%.

Changes in fares from 1 July 2012 onwards:

Stored Value Ticket
Adults EUR 1.62 -> EUR 1.66
Youth/Students: EUR 1.18 -> EUR 1.21
Children/Seniors (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) EUR 0.81 -> EUR 0.83

Season Ticket
30 days, adults: EUR 44.00 -> EUR 45.00
30 days, youth/students: EUR 30.00 -> EUR 31.00
30 days, children: EUR 22.00 -> EUR 22.50
No increases in the season tickets for 90 and 180 days.

Commuter Ticket
30 days/50 trips EUR 39.00 -> EUR 39.50

The prices of single tickets and tourist tickets will remain the same.
