Tampere Swimming Centre, the largest of the Tampere indoor swimming pools, was built in 1979 and is intended for recreation, fitness and competive training.
The 50 metre-long pool with 8 lanes can be divided into two separate pools with a hydraulic hoist. There is also a teaching pool and a children’s pool. The changing rooms were renovated in the summer of 2001 and now offer 256 lockers for both men and women.

The entrance to the pool building has a monitoring system and a ticket vending machine for single tickets. The admittance card received from the machine also functions as a deposit for a key to a locker in the changing room. There are eight steam saunas and five other saunas that can also be hired privately (one of them has got pneumatically adjustable benches suitable for the handicapped). On the second floor there is also a cosy cafeteria and a fitness room that was renovated in spring 1997.
