Medical rehabilitation provides rehabilitation and technical aids promoting coping in daily life. These services can be obtained because of an injury or a disease. By means of medical rehabilitation, the client’s functional capacity is maintained and improved and his or her coping in physical activities and daily tasks is supported.
The rehabilitation services provided are physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and neuropsychological rehabilitation. The rehabilitation services also include technical aid services.
Patients entering these services usually have a referral given by a doctor or a public health nurse. When necessary, those in hospital care are given rehabilitation services.
