In Finland, controlling the safety of consumer products and services is the joint responsibility of the Consumer Agency, State Provincial Offices and municipalities.
The Environmental Protection Department monitors consumer goods and services mainly on a project by project basis by participating in national and province-specific projects and in the event of complaints. Municipalities, Tampere included, concentrate on the control of local consumer services.
