Environmental permits

Environmental permits must be obtained for any activities that may be harmful to the environment.

The Environmental Protection Decree (169/2000) defines the activities that require an environmental permit. These include landfills, fuel stations for the distribution of liquid fuels where the capacity of the storage tank is at least 10 cubic metres, and stone quarries. Permits are issued by either an Environmental Permit Authority, Pirkanmaa Regional Environment Centre, or the Environment and Land Development Committee of the City of Tampere.

Instructions and environmental permit application forms are available on the Environmental Administration website.
