The ecumenical chapel located on the Viikinsaari Island used to be a jail, but with the help of the vision of artist Ilkka Väärti, the former jailhouse was transformed into a place of peace. The hundred year old building is now both a work of art and a place for the public to spend a moment in quiet contemplation.
The chapel is open during the summer months
