Venues for hire

The Cultural Affairs has several spaces that can be rented for concerts, meetings, festivities or courses. The Cultural Office decides for the exhibition schedule of Emil Gallery in the Old Library House and Haihara Art Centre.

The spaces in the Old Library House are primarily hired for cultural and free time associations, not for festivities, religious or sports events.

Size of the stage and other information

The size of the stage is app. 50 square metre, the shape of the stage opens to audience.

The width x depth
8,2 – 11,2 x 5,0 meters + 6,0 x 7,0 x 2,4 meters
(performance stage on the back)

Free height:
4,2 - 4,5 meters (the actual performance stage) 1,7 - 2,3 meters (the back part of the performance stage)
The surface material of the performance area is wood, so it’s ideal for dance performances.

Choir stairs:
Front side stairs, 3 steps, width app. 11,4 meters Back side stairs, 3 steps, width app. 5,8 meters
There’s also an additional paved performing area/ dancing area for the audience.

Stand:
88 benches of 3x0,4 meters of size, sitting area for 350 persons.

Dressing rooms:
There’s a dressing room of 9 square meters and a 4,5 sq meter sized invalid toilet. There’s a electric lock which opens with an identifier. The carrying of things can be made via ramp, which is situated behind the stage; you can drive closest to it from the Puutarhakatu side.

PA system

- PA system speakers (speakers for audience and performers) are hung on the roof structures

- Solid sound systems are situated in dressing room AV equipment cupboard.

- Movable PA systems can be attached to the solid PA system via the connection spots, which are on the line level

- There’s also a wireless microphone system on the stage

- There’s also schuko-power plug for PA control equipment you might have with you. The plumbing on the ground can be used as routes for the signal cables if necessary.

Lights and suspension

- There is a performance lightning, which operates solidly with a switch. It provides white light. It’s located in the dressing room.

- For hanging your equipment, there are horizontal and vertical structures with a solid 1,2 meter division. The bar is 50mm wide.

Electricity

- The main fuses of the stage are 3 x 63A. All fuses are located in the dressing room, inside the electrical centre.

- On the left side of the stage there’s one floor power plug with 3 prongs, power plug of 32A + three schuko power plugs with 2 plug-in points, 2 plug-in points for wired microphones, and one (L+T) plug-in point to the solid PA system of the stage.

- On the back part of the stage there’s a wall plug for 3 schuko power plugs (each with its own stage), 2 plug-in points for wired microphones and 1 (L+R) plug-in point to the solid PA system of the stage.
